As the presidential campaign ramped up in 2016, much of the new media devoted its coverage to the more sensational aspects of the race. To emphasize The Wall Street Journal’s focus on matters of importance, we built a campaign on the platform “Story, Not Spectacle” and positioned The Wall Street Journal as the source for substantive election coverage.
